Driven to Make

Posted by Suzanne Bates on

This drive to make occupies my mind from day until night, and even into my dreams while I sleep; a desire to create something that doesn't exist and to bring beauty into the world. My medium is primarily cloth; weaving, dyeing, quilting, and sewing, all make their way into my work. I get a lot of joy from making useful and pretty things. Whether weaving a handtowel, sewing a quilt, or dyeing a silk scarf, creating these things makes me happy, and hopefully, brings joy to those who use them.
